África sigue siendo uno de los grandes pulmones de la música más vital y vitalista, y desde Kinshasa, la República Democrática del Congo, llega esta sorprendente banda para ampliarle el horizonte a ritmos ancestrales. Kokoko! son una de las actuales sensaciones de esta nueva forma de entender la música africana más allá de artistas ya increíblemente visionarios como Fela Kuti, avanzado aún más en la contemporaneidad y urbanidad de la rumba congoleña, pilar de todas las expresiones musicales subsaharianas. Su disco más reciente, Fongola, fue un festín musical repleto de luz y color, ritmos desenfrenados, guiños al funk y la psicodelia más heterodoxa con el poso africano siempre de fondo. El disco contó con la participación del productor y beatmaker francés Débruit, quien se unió a un colectivo que incluye a la música como una disciplina más dentro de su concepción de la cultura como elemento sustancial para el abrazo de los pueblos.
